Ask the Professor is a new feature on our website that was created especially for you. Submit any questions you have about child labour, child soldiers, sweatshops, war, human rights and children’s rights and Jonathan White, a professor of Sociology and Political Economy, will post detailed and factual answers. Now that it’s the new year, resolve to take action and learn about the world around you!

Last month, Professor White answered a great question about how to make ethical gift choices over the holidays. Equipped with the knowledge of why it’s important to purchase from socially responsible companies, he suggested cool actions and unique gift ideas above and beyond the average gifts found in a mall.

Twice a month, Professor White posts questions and answers like this one for all to see. If you’re wondering about something, chances are your peers are too, so don’t hold back—ask away!

Professor White has written many pieces on issues related to inequality and human rights. He has also  received numerous teaching and humanitarian awards. He has inspired hundreds of Free The Children and Leaders Today youth with his passionate talks about global hunger, child poverty and the ability each of us has to make a difference in the world.
