Volunteer with Free The Children and Leaders Today!
Summer Academy participants clean up the town Take Action! Day
The sun is shining and the tulips are blooming. Spring has sprung and we’re moving fast forward through the end of the school year. Many of you were inspired this year to take action and change the world, so how do we keep this momentum going during the summer months?
The great thing about summer is being able to enjoy the outdoors, and volunteering is a fantastic way to have fun in the sun while still making a difference. You can volunteer to help the environment by stewarding at local organizations that work to clean up our world or work to fight poverty by taking on one of Free The Children’s campaigns during the summer, like an outdoor Celebrate for Change party!
If you like to travel, sign up for an International Volunteer Trip to exotic and interesting places throughout the globe, where you can get hands-on volunteering experience building a school. We are still accepting applications for International Volunteer Trips to Ecuador, India, Kenya and the Arizona-Mexico border this summer. These trips are an incredible way to give back and experience a new culture. Spend your summer exploring the Maasai Mara, schoolbuilding in the Ecuadorian Andes or entice all five of your senses in India!
If hanging out with great friends is your thing, sign up for one of our annual Take Action! academies. On Take Action! Day, approximately 200 young people disperse into the downtown areas of Toronto, Ontario; Surrey, British Columbia; and Sackville, New Brunswick. Volunteering with organizations and individuals who are creating positive change in their communities, academy participants take action to collaborate and volunteer to make a difference. Last year’s adventurers visited local food banks, urban conservation efforts, Canadian Living magazine headquarters and even the Free The Children head office!
Are you ready to discover your passions and put them into action? Free The Children and Leaders Today invite you to sign up now to do something different with your summer!
