Warning! The deadline is approaching for Early Bird registration for the
2006 Take Action! Academy. Send in your application by April 1, 2006 for a special Early Bird price and a guaranteed spot at the only summer camp with the power to change the world.
One of the coolest new features of this year’s Academy will be the Take Action! Day. Choose from a ton of workshops and spend an entire day literally making change happen.
What’s your passion?
Ending Homelessness!

Planting trees with Earth Day Canada
Put your work gloves on and get ready to build a house. By spending your day volunteering with
Habitat for Humanity, you’ll help provide a Toronto-area family with a safe, comfortable home and their first chance to own a house.
Saving the Planet!
Start your day off right by enjoying Toronto’s great outdoors as you help clean up a park or plant trees in the city. Then, learn how to teach younger kids about environmental issues by becoming an Eco-Mentor with Earth Day Canada.
Ending Child Labor!
Get the inside scoop on Free The Children: meet the staff, find out what our schools and water projects look like on the ground, give us your feedback, and get individualized help on developing your Youth In Action group and your action plans!
What are your talents?

Developing writing skills
Writing!
Imagine having Toronto’s leading journalists help you brush up on your writing, seeing the inner workings of Canada’s top newspapers and magazines, and learning how to get media attention for your own projects! You’ll do all this, plus a surprise.
Acting!
Spend the day learning how to use your drama skills to make change happen. Coming all the way from Mozambique, we’ll introduce you to a street theatre troupe that has adapted Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to raise awareness about AIDS.
Ready to turn your talents and passions into ACTION?
We’ll show you how. That’s why we call it the Take Action! Academy.
