M.A.D. 4 MADDIE 2009

Be a part of M.A.D 4 MADDIE this year wherever you are, and help continue Maddie’s dream of making a difference in our world

While battling cancer, Maddison (Maddie) Babineau, a young Hamilton teen, captured the hearts of thousands when she was granted a wish from the Children’s Wish Foundation. Despite what she was going through, all Maddie wanted to do was to make life a little better for those less fortunate. Her wish helped build a school and a clean water project in an impoverished rural community in Kenya through Free The Children.

Tragically, Maddie did not live long enough to see her project completed, but we are committed to carrying on her dream.

On May 30, 2009, hundreds of people will celebrate Maddie’s legacy by holding the 2nd Annual M.A.D. 4 MADDIE run/walk event with Honorary Chair Brian Melo (Canadian Idol winner 2007).

The 2008 M.A.D. 4 MADDIE run was a great success with over 500 participants at the May 31 event held in Hamilton, Ontario. Participants raised $35,000 to carry on Maddie's wish to help children and their families in Kenya through Free The Children. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better! Plan on attending the M.A.D. 4 MADDIE 2009:

At last year’s M.A.D 4 MADDIE run/walk, participants carried water on their heads to experience what young girls in developing countries go through every single day.
Event Details:

  • Saturday, May 30, 2009
  • Location: Dofasco Park, located at 388 1st Street East in Stoney Creek
  • Don't forget to watch CTS TV for information about the event.

This year teens across Canada are encouraged to participate in this event and you can even host a M.A.D 4 MADDIE run/walk in your own community:

All proceeds will be donated to Maddie’s Free The Children project in Kenya.
